Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday

On Friday 8th May the school has joined to watch a special assembly to celebrate the famous BBC broadcaster, natural historian and writer, Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday.

Mason wrote about him: His presenting career began in 1954 as the host of Zoo Quest. Since then, his career has spanned eight decades; it includes the nine-documentary series forming The Life Collection, Natural World, Wildlife On One, the Planet Earth franchise and both Blue Planet Films. He is the only person to have won BAFTA awards in black-and-white, colour, high-definition, 3D and 4K resolution. Over the years, he has collected dozens of honorary degrees and awards, including three Primetime Emmy Awards and one Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Narrator.
