InkSpill here, and I want to tell you something.
I might have the chance of a lifetime on my hands.
Have you heard of [adult swim]? It’s a block that’s on Cartoon Network in America and used to be on E4 in the UK. It’s where shows like “Rick and Morty,” “Smiling Friends” and “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” come from. They’re known for their scrappy, low-budget, yet stylish and experimental shows. They have given a chance to smaller creators and even helped “Family Guy” and “Futurama” become popular.
I think I may have found my big break.
Adult Swim hosts an initiative called “SMALLS” to help smaller creators get short films on YouTube, streaming and even being shown in televised showcases. I remembered it existed because filmmaker Joe Cappa became the first person to turn his “Haha You Clowns” shorts for SMALLS (a Home Improvement parody about 3 teens living with their single dad) into a TV show.
I’m currently improving my workflow, using a tool called HONK to generate lip-sync in real-time and only properly animating when necessary. I’m also redesigning and rethinking the main cast, so keep an eye out for that.
Before we leave, I’m gonna say something.
I was thinking about my new favourite fan-made Pokémon, Snipster…

…who’s a crab. I was also watching the Adult Swim SMALLS series “SWAMS,” whose protag is a shrimp.
I was thinking about how cool crustaceans are, and wanted Todd, who you may know as SplatShop-2D, to be one.
So… I’ll redesign him.
InkSpill out.
